Our five Dominican Schools celebrating the feast of St Dominic in Invercargill.  St Teresa’s Bluff joined with St Joseph’s to start their day of celebration with Mass in the Basilica followed by activities.   The St Joseph’s children wore mufti.  St Pats sported black and white balloons everywhere around the grounds and buildings.  The classes buddied up for their fun activities and these children had made star hats to wear for the day! St Dominic you are our star.  Sister Margaret Butler shared in a feast day Mass at  St Patricks.   St Theresa’s staff sported black and white and reported a wonderfully prayerful celebratory Mass.  Sr Judith enjoyed a celebratory morning tea with the staff. Our celebratory day in Invercargill ended with some of the Dominican family gathering at Korimako to enjoy a delicious potluck meal. This was followed by reflection time.Each person chose a card (which started with a question from St Dominic) then took turns in reading them aloud. * eg I spent all night talking to an innkeeper, a person of no account. How do you act with the innkeeper of your time? * I was drawn to establish the order because I saw that the Church was not really serving the people. In what ways are you carrying out new works that the church of your day is not addressing? We enjoyed a lovely evening feeding the body, mind and soul!
